Frequently Asked Questions

BOWENWORK, RESTORATIVE MANUAL THERAPY & EMOTIONAL INTEGRATION

What concerns can Bowenwork help support?

Bowenwork is often chosen for gentle support with pain patterns, injury recovery, neurological stress patterns (history of post-concussion or post-stroke), posture, mobility, sensory sensitivity, and whole-body balance.

What concerns can Restorative Manual Therapy help support?

Clients seek this therapy for stress-pattern resetting, fatigue, sleep disruption, digestive or hormonal stress patterns, sensory sensitivity, and nervous system regulation.

What concerns can Emotional Integration & Release help support?

This session is often chosen for grief, emotional overwhelm, burnout, chronic stress patterns, and tension held in the body during recovery or life transitions.

Can these treatments be combined?

Many clients benefit from combining gentle, regulation-focused services over time. After Bowenwork, we recommend allowing a dedicated integration window and avoiding additional hands-on bodywork for 4–7 days when possible—including massage therapy, chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, and strong heat or cold therapies—so the body has time to process and adapt without competing inputs.

Some clients experience a temporary “processing response” after a session, such as increased fatigue, mild soreness, a headache, or feeling emotionally tender for 24–72 hours. This is typically temporary and can be supported with hydration, gentle movement, rest, and keeping your schedule light.

In many cases, gentler supportive options such as sound healing, vibroacoustic therapy, therapeutic music, red light therapy, and emotional integration may be combined with Bowenwork based on your sensitivity and goals. If you’re unsure what to schedule together, we can recommend the most supportive options and timing for your body.

Are these treatments safe for all ages?

Yes. All services offered at Bowen Health are gentle and adaptable for infants, older adults, veterans, and individuals with high sensitivity.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?

If you’re not sure where to begin, start with the service that most closely matches your main goal (pain relief, stress regulation, emotional reset). Your session will be tailored to your needs and sensitivity level.

SOUND & ENERGY HEALING

How do I know which sound or energy service is right for me?

If you’re unsure where to begin, choose the option that matches your main goal (sleep support, grounding, regulation, stress recovery). Your session can be adapted to your sensitivity level and preferences.

Are these services safe for sensitive clients or those with neurological stress patterns?

Yes. All sound and energy services at Bowen Health are gentle, adaptable, and appropriate for highly sensitive individuals, including those with neurological stress patterns.

Do these services diagnose or treat medical conditions?

No. Sound and energy services are wellness-based and supportive in nature. They do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.

Can sound or energy sessions be combined with massage therapy and bodywork?

Yes. Many clients choose to combine sound or energy sessions with massage therapy and bodywork as part of an integrative wellness approach. If you’re highly sensitive, we may recommend starting with one service and building gradually.
